Wetland Water Cycle Short Video

Excerpt from SALMTEC’s ABWRET-A Blended/Online Course.

Many people know what the water cycle is. How water transforms across time and space globally. But the global water cycle is made up of trillions and trillions of smaller water cycles. For example, the water cycle can be explored on an ecosystem basis.

In this video short, the wetland water cycle is described. Wetland water inputs (precipitation, surface runoff, groundwater discharge) and outputs (evaporation, evapotranspiration, surface outflow, groundwater recharge) are discussed as they relate to a wetland’s water balance. To understand the wetland water cycle, Dr. Adamus, developer of the wetland evaluation tool and ABWRET-A, provides an overview in this short video.
