The Alberta Wetland Policy Basics online course provides an overview of wetland identification, delineation, classification, function assessment, replacement, monitoring, design and management requirements under the Alberta Water Act.

This short online course was designed for anyone interested in Alberta’s wetlands.

Course Format:

The course is immediately available and consists of:

  • Four – 15-25 minute online modules,
  • Four – optional activities (approximately 15-30 minutes each) and
  • Four – optional quizzes to test your knowledge

  • Describing what a wetland is and how it is classified
  • Discussing tips on how to identify wetlands
  • Providing a basic understanding of the regulatory requirements for activities in a wetland
